艾屬植物最高高度可達2 公尺，葉

艾草在尼泊爾海拔300-2500 公尺處，均有發現其蹤跡，在當地也被稱為titepati（tite意思是

「苦」，pati 意思是「葉子」），被用作獻給神的祭品、用於淨化環境（在屋外掛一束艾草）、

薰香以及藥用植物。

艾草被稱為「草藥之母」，應用於傳統中國、歐洲和印度醫學，具有廣泛的藥理用途
